Our company was founded in 1890 by my grandfather Giovanni Baretti as manufacturer of illumination fictures both in wood and steel.

Starting in 1950 I had the opportunity to meet  Enrico Mattei, president of ENI. He was complaining that all materials for his new born company had to be imported from USA.

I personally took this as a great opportunity to enter a brand new area of business and to enjoy a potentially large business.  I was young and full of energies, so I took a flight to USA and manged to have a meeting with one of the big american players in this area: Mr. Nutter.

It was a nice meeting, at that time somewat difficult because my english was not so good, but I did manage to come back with a real license to design and manufacture distillation trays.

It was easy to collect some skilled designers and set up a new small plant where to start the operations.

The first tray was delivered to ENI in 1951 and installed in Pero Refinery.

From that day I set my company on few basic but very important to me principles:

- Quality : defined as the best product produced at the best price

- Customer satisfaction: this market does not allow any mistake nor delais

- Safety. life is the most important gift that God has given us
